Versemap ("we", "us", "our") operates the website versemap.io. This page describes what data we collect, why, and how we handle it. We keep things simple because we believe privacy should be.

- Local storage — we may store non-sensitive preferences in your browser's local storage to improve your experience. This data never leaves your device.
What we don't collect
- We don't collect names, phone numbers, or physical addresses.
- We don't use cookies for advertising or tracking across other sites.
- We don't sell, rent, or share any personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
How we use your data
- Email notifications — to let you know when new artists are added or major features launch. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link in any email or contacting us directly.
- Service improvement — aggregated analytics help us understand which features matter most and where to focus development.
Data storage and security
Email addresses are stored securely on our servers. We use reasonable technical measures to protect your data, though no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
Third-party services
- Google Analytics — for aggregated usage statistics. See Google's privacy policy.
- Genius — we use publicly available lyrics data from Genius for analysis. Versemap is not affiliated with Genius.
Your rights
You can request deletion of your email address at any time by emailing seth@versemap.io. We will remove your data within 7 days.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves. Significant changes will be communicated via email to subscribers. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
